The Long Route Home: On July 25, 1946, two youthful dark couples-Roger and Dorothy Malcom, George and Mae Murray Dorsey-were executed by a lynch horde at the Moore’s Ford Bridge over the Appalachee River associating Walton and Oconee Counties (Brooks, 1).
